The Creepiest Kids In Horror, Then And Now.

Horror films these days have some of the most devoted fans ever, and some characters have become instant classics. The next most terrifying thing than a masked maniac with a machete or a serial killer armed with a knife would have to be the children. In most horror films these days, the children are the ones making the victims run in fear. From Tamara “The Ring” or even Regan “The Exorcist”, these kids would be enough to make the scariest monsters in films shiver with fear.

Linda Blair.

Linda Blair is best-known for the possessed child character Regan from The Exorcist films, in which she had won a Golden Globe award and an Oscar nomination for a Best Supporting Actress.

Mischa Barton.

Before landing her role of Marissa Cooper on the Fox show “The O.C.”, Mischa Barton portrayed a frightening ghost by the name of Kyra Collins in the horror film The Sixth Sense.

Miko Hughes.

His first ever role was the main Gage Creed in the horror flick “Pet Sematary”. After this role he gained a recurring role of Aaron Bailey in “Full House” before he returned to the horror world again in “Wes Craven’s New Nightmare” as Heather Langenkamp’s son Dylan Porter.

Lina Leandersson.

At the age of 11, Lina Leandersson landed a role of vampire Eli in the 2008 vampire horror film “Let the Right One In”. The actress received a handful of award nominations for this performance and had won the 2009 Fangoria Chainsaw Award for the Best Actress. 

Lisa and Louise Burns.

Lisa and Louise Burns will forever be remembered in film history as the Grady Twins in the 80's horror classic “The Shining”. They haven’t acted since then.

Danielle Harris.

Danielle Harris got an early start in film as Jamie Lloyd in “Halloween 4” and “Halloween 5”. She later became one of the top scream queens worldwide with performances in the 2007 “Halloween” remake and its 2009 sequel, and also “See No Evil 2”, and “Hatchet 2”.

John Franklin.

John Franklin is best-known for the role as the teen preacher Isaac Chroner in the 1984 film “Children of the Corn” and “Children of the Corn 666:Issac’s Return” in 1999. He also played Cousin Itt in “The Addams Family” and the 1993 sequel “Addams Family Values”.

Isabelle Fuhrman.

Isabelle Fuhrman got her break portraying a nine-year-old Esther in the 2009 horror film “Orphan”. And since that role, she's acted in films like The Hunger Games and All the Wilderness.

Harvey Stephens.

Harvey Stephens played the role of Damien Thorn in the 1976 horror classic “The Omen” after director Richard Donner asked Harvey, who was four years old at the time, to attack him. 20 years after the Omen's release, Stephens had a cameo role as a reporter in the remake, which was intentionally released on June 6, 2006. He still makes appearances at conventions today.

Daveigh Chase.

While Daveigh Chase got her break as the voice of Lilo Pelekai in the Disney film “Lilo & Stitch”, she terrified everyone as Samara Morgan in the horror flick “The Ring”.

Lindsey Haun.

Lindsey Haun had her first role as one of the psychic children in the 1995 horror film “Village of the Damned”, directed by John Carpenter. Most people would recognize her as Hadley Hale on the hit HBO series “True Blood”

Thomas Dekker.

Thomas Dekker appeared in the horror film “Village of the Damned”, and the actor/singer gained noticeable roles as John Connor on the Fox sci-fi series “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”.

Yuya Ozeki.

Yuya Ozeki made everyone uneasy as the creepy child Toshio Saeki in the 2004 horror film “The Grudge”. This wasn’t his first time portraying this character; he also played him in “Ju-on: The Grudge” and “Ju-on: The Grudge 2” in Japan.

Dakota Fanning.

At the young age of 11, Dakota Fanning was one of Hollywood’s biggest child stars. In the 2005 psychological horror film “Hide and Seek”, she portrayed Emily Callaway, a young girl that became friends with an imaginary friend named Charlie. This performance had earned her a 2006 Fangoria Chainsaw Awards nomination for Best Actress.

Heather O’Rourke.

Heather O’Rourke is known for her role of Carol Anne Freeling in the first three “Poltergeist” films. Her line “They’re here” has become the most recognized 2 words in film history ever. On Feb 1, 1988, she had been found dead at the age of 12 due to cardiac arrest and septic shock.

Danny Lloyd.

Danny Lloyd’s most memorable role is the child Danny Torrance in the 1980 horror classic “The Shining”. Lloyd retired from acting and chose to live a normal teen life.

Haley Joel Osment.

With just a single line “I see dead people” from the 1999 horror film “The Sixth Sense”, Haley Joel Osment became a superstar overnight. The role of Cole Sear earned him a plethora of nominations and awards.
